  • The Seer Anointing in the New Year

I’m so thankful that God has been restoring the office of the Prophet to the Church, along with prophetic giftings and anointing.  I know Prophets and prophetic gifts have been instrumental in keeping me focused on what the Spirit is saying to me, my family, the church and my city.  Personally I have determined that not only do I want to have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying, I want to equip others to have hearing ears.

One ministry that I have chosen to align myself and Harvest Fellowship with is Glory of Zion in Denton, TX.  Harvest Fellowship is a Church of Zion.  I’ve always been strengthened by the revelation and anointing that flows from this ministry overseen by Chuck Pierce.  This past weekend, Harvest Fellowship webcast ‘Starting the Year Off Right’, Glory of Zion’s annual New Year’s Conference.  I attended in person a year ago, but I felt we needed to webcast from Harvest Fellowship this year in Ardmore.  We did so believing a Portal of Glory would further be opened up in our region, and I believe this is happening!

In both this conference and The Head of the Year in September (Glory of Zion’s conference which celebrates the beginning of the year according to the Jewish calendar), the Holy Spirit emphasized we must ‘look again’.  In this next season we must have both hearing ears AND eyes that see!  God wants to increase our vision this year as He activates a Seer anointing in our lives at a new level.

Like many within the Body of Christ, I often operate freely in the seer prophetic gifting.  The word for prophet in the Old Testament used most often is nahbi.  This has to do mainly with declaring what someone has heard from God.  However, the Spirit has also been giving further insight these last few years about the seer prophetic gifting.

The two Old Testament words used primarily to refer to a seer are ra’ah and chozeh.  Ra’ah means “to see” while chozeh means a “beholder in vision.”  Both Gad and Asaph were seers in King David’s court according to 2 Chronicles 29:30 and 2 Samuel 24:11-12.  Seers usually see visions and dream dreams from the Lord consistently.

I believe the seer gifting is going to increase throughout the Body of Christ.  Chuck Pierce declared at Starting the Year Off Right that a key to the next 10 years would be how we see!  In this season may His People experience what the two disciples on the road to Emmaus experienced in Luke 24:31: “And their eyes were opened and they recognized Him.”
